Adrian Verdnik – President

By day, Adrian is a partner at a city law firm and by night, partner to a beautiful kindergarten teacher with whom he has two beautiful daughters.

Adrian has been racing in triathlons for about 10 years and during that time has moved up from shorter distance racing to the type of long course racing that suits middle-aged men that can’t swim.

Andrew Pappas – Vice President

Andrew works as an Executive Manager for a not for profit organisation in the inner northern suburbs  of Melbourne. He is married to a beautiful wife and has two gorgeous daughters .
Andrew is relatively new to triathlons having competed in the last Gatorade series 2015. For Andrew,   triathlons have opened up a whole new world that tests his body and his mind and loves that he can     “mix it up ” with swimming , biking and running.

Ash Bartholomew – Committee member and Brunswick Baths Manager

Ash has worked for the YMCA over the last 20 years, and currently manages the Brunswick Baths in Active Moreland.
Outside of work, Ash likes to run and has graduated from marathons into the ultra-world of running, skyruns and trail running.
Ash is married with three kids (one of whom is the current junior world champion in trail/sky running!).
Ash believes some of the benefits of triathlons are that they allow some forms of cross training that ease pain and assist with recovery.

Simon Preston – General Committee Member

Simon is in his 3rd triathlon season and has well and truly got the tri-bug. He is currently       focussing on 70.3 half iron distance triathlon races with the goal to do his first Ironman in early 2018. This year Simon has joined the BCB Multisport committee to help grow this already successful club, with a role in social media and communications.

Outside of triathlon Simon is doing his PhD, focussing on the immunology of chronic infectious diseases and is enrolled at Melbourne University. He has almost completed his PhD and is looking to stay in the research field with a desire to find new cures and treatment for diseases that have none.

Ashleigh Whiteside – General Committee Member

Ashleigh works in a membership operations and data analysis role at an AFL club, studies part time and is mother to a gorgeous 6 year old daughter. After being 175kg and sustaining a permanent leg injury in 2010 Ashleigh’s initial fitness goal was to walk 50 meters. Somehow that developed into her completing her first sprint Triathlon in 2015 and she has been hooked ever since. Ashleigh wants to be able to encourage people of all abilities and fitness levels to get involved in the sport and to be part of a club that is inclusive of everyone.
